Coke pulls commercial, Pepsi pulls lawsuit
    Big News Network (UPI)
    Thursday 23rd March, 2006

Pepsi dropped a false advertising lawsuit against Atlanta rival Coca-Cola for the way it promoted its Powerade Option drink.

Stokely-Van Camp, a Pepsi unit that makes Gatorade, objected to Coca-Cola TV commercials, which included an unsubstantiated claim that Powerade Option is superior to Gatorade, Pepsi said.

Coca-Cola agreed to stop airing the provocative ad and change a second one being aired during the NCAA basketball tournament, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday.
